Westbridge Kids: Sunday, May 3rd

Hello Parents of Westbridge Kids!

Thanks for checking out our new kids blog. We are working to keep you up to date with what your kids are learning at Westbridge. Here is a quick summary of this past Sunday:

Preschool:

In WB preschool this week, we are on lesson 4 in the "I can be a friend" series. This week, learned two main lessons:

1) I can pray for my friends
2)God can help my friends when I pray for them

Our Bible story was about Peter in jail (Acts Chapter 12). After our video, the children made "prayer chains" to signify Peter's chains and to remind us to pray for our friends. If you have a moment, remind your children to pray for their friends they named on their chain.

Our Memory Verse for this series is from Proverbs 17:17,

"A friend loves at all times."

Your children are learning actions to go with the verse. Ask them to say the verse with you, and you might learn the actions too!

Grade School:

Sunday, May 3rd, we watched the Friends and Heros video entitled "No Turning Back" and finished up our series. The Biblical Lessons for the last two weeks were Elijah and the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 17-19), and the first Pentecost (Acts Chapter 2). Here are a couple of follow-up discussion questions from this last lesson to ask you kids:

• How do you think the believers felt when they heard the
windstorm?

• How do you think the believers felt when they realized they
were speaking in new languages?

• Are there some things about God that are a mystery to you?
Why shouldn’t we be scared, even when we don’t completely
understand him?

Our Power Verse this week is:

"I will pour out my Spirit upon all people." Acts 2:17

If your child memorizes the verse for next week, they get to pick something out from the prize table:)
